Description
The Esophagus Insert with Varices is designed for realistic endoscopic training in the identification and management of esophageal varices.
The insert provides a dedicated varices scenario within the esophagus, allowing trainees to practice navigating to the target, identifying varices, and performing relevant endoscopic interventions in a controlled training environment.
The insert enables trainees to practice variceal band ligation, including suctioning the varix into the ligation cap and observing the characteristic “red-out” view before deploying the band. This provides hands-on training in the correct positioning, suction, and deployment of bands during the treatment of esophageal varices.
The insert is designed for repeated training and can be easily exchanged in the UpperGI Bleed Phantom, allowing users to switch between different esophageal training scenarios.
